We meet every Tuesday for training, pool diving and socials gatherings.
We meeting at Queen Mother Sports Centre, near to Victoria Station other than for our monthly end-of-the-month social events which are included on our dive calendar. If you let us know that you are coming in advance by the contact form then we can arrange for someone to meet you and guide you to our club room within the sports centre.
Our Clubroom
To find us, tell the reception staff that you’re there for scuba diving. They will then let you through the barriers. Go up the stairs to the left (just 1 flight) and go straight ahead into the swimming pool atrium. If you look to your right, all the way to the other end of the atrium you will see the small diving pool at the back (with the water slide). There’s a door in the back corner at pool side (see picture below) – that’s where you’re headed!
To get there go through the doors marked “Spectator Gallery”, along and through the doors to the right and head all the way along the top of the spectator gallery. Then walk down to the pool and find that door in the back corner. Our club room is actually underneath the last section of the gallery.
Yes OK, it’s literally a cupboard under the stairs. It’s rather bigger than Harry Potter’s was, and we like to think it’s where our magic happens.
Our Opening Hours
19:00 – we officially open (though someone is often there earlier).
19:00 – 22:00 – theory training in or near the club room. Other members meet to chat.
21:00 – 22:00 – we have the use of the diving pool (which is 3.5m deep) for diving, swimming and snorkeling.
After training is complete we head to a local pub where hopefully lots of other members are already chatting and eating.
